No matter what you’ve been through, my trauma-informed approach creates a safe, compassionate space where trust can thrive. I know you’ll achieve your best results when your whole being is valued and engaged. Let’s embark on this transformative journey together.

“HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE UNRESOLVED TRAUMA?

Here are several indicators, but not exhaustive:

  • You experienced emotional abuse (were told you were too sensitive, stupid, won’t amount to anything, a problem, or not wanted)
  • You were put down or criticized
  • You were bullied (in school or at home)
  • You have chunks of time missing from your memory
  • You experienced physical violence
  • A family member or babysitter touched or spoke to you in inappropriate ways
  • Family members or loved ones who knew but did nothing
  • You took on the role of the parent
  • Crying was not safe or acceptable
  • You were compared to someone else causing feelings of not being enough or missing the mark

POSSIBLE CURRENT AND PAST INDICATORS OF TRAUMA

  • Rumination (hamster wheel thoughts) – going over and over in your mind what you could have said or done differently
  • Eating disorder – eating too much / not enough / binge diets / laxatives
  • Secret drinking/substance use – you feel guilty for how much you drink and keep it secret
  • Self depreciating with self and others – Ex: “I am stupid”
  • Relationship Issues – finding yourself having a relationship with the same person in a different body
  • Lack of Boundaries – Saying yes when you would rather say no
  • Reacting vs Responding – you erupt verbally or physically out of anger.
  • Loss of Words – you feel like a deer in headlights or feel frozen when in certain situations
  • Compliance – you do what is ask or told out of fear of repercussions
  • Avoiding Conflict – You walk away from the conversation without answering or engaging

HOW TRAUMA MAY SHOW UP IN YOUR BODY

  • Feelings of panic
  • Heart racing
  • Tension in particular parts of the body (stomach tightens, neck tenses)
  • Certain parts of your body go numb (hands arms)
  • When uncomfortable, certain areas become itchy
  • Chronic pain in specific areas of the body
  • You feel detached from your body, like it doesn’t belong to you

If you do not know this, I want to be the first to tell you – you are NOT broken. You don’t need “fixing.” You may feel shame because you have behaviors that you can’t seem to overcome. Our bodies are ALWAYS working to keep us safe. Your trauma’s energy has worked to protect you from further harm. It is a natural part of what your body was designed to do! Because our bodies hold memory and emotion, trauma is energy that can get stuck in our bodies. Discussing difficult experiences or past trauma isn’t always easy, and you might prefer to avoid it. Every individual has different ways they are able to process. You are not a cookie cutter human.

We will spend time focusing on you while discovering what works best for you to move forward with greater clarity and peace. I’ll guide you through any uncomfortable emotions and memories that emerge, teaching you to listen to your body, so you can gain a deeper freedom to live more fully.
